Project Description:Reconstruction and relocation of major ramps connecting I495/I95 and MD 5. This relocation included the import of 300,000CY of borrow, construction of a large reinforced earth slope, construction of two span bridges over I495/I95 and MD 5, which included shut downs of the roadways for steel erection. This work was performed adjacent to major wetlands and Waters of the US. Cherry Hill Partnered with SHA to minimize the Projects impact environmentally and to the public.
Special Features:Large interstate interchange reconstruction calling for phased work schedule to minimize traffic disruption. Special MOT plan for girder erection called for closing major interstate road (I-95) during off hours to safely set steel. Work accomplished on time w/ no safety problems and minimal delay to motoring public. Project was completed 10 months ahead of original contracted completion date.
