I-83 Exit 18 Improvements

Project Description:

  • The reconstruction and widening of Interstate 83
  • Construction of six new and reconfigured interchange ramps
  • Reconstruction and widening of PA Route 124 (Mt Rose Avenue)
  • Reconstruction and widening of SR 2005 (Camp Betty Washington Road & Haines Road).
  • Other side road improvements include:
    • The reconstruction of Green Hill Road
    • Construction of Green Hill Road Extension
    • Construction of the Access Road.
  • The structure work on the project includes:
    • Replacement and widening three existing bridges
    • Construction of four new bridges
    • Widening of three existing box culverts
    • Construction of one new box culvert
    • Construction of two new sound walls
    • Construction of two new sign structures.
  • The project also includes:
    • New traffic signals at six intersections with adaptive traffic signal control
    • Updated drainage and guiderail
    • Signing and pavement markings
    • Utility relocations
    • Highway lighting
    • Mill Creek stream relocation & mitigation
    • Closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) installation
