Cherry Hill Awarded Another Section 100 Project

Cherry Hill was recently awarded the I-95 General Purpose and Express Toll Lanes from the I-895 Split to South of Kenwood Avenue and Chesaco Avenue Bridge Project. This $87 million project, located in Baltimore County and Baltimore City, is for the construction of Express Toll Lanes along I-95 Section 100.

This project consists of widening a section of I-95 in order to provide two express toll lanes in each direction. The express toll lanes will consist of a 12’ outside shoulder, two 12’ lanes and a 4’ inside shoulder. The general purpose lanes will be separated from the express toll lanes by a concrete barrier and will consist of a 14’ outside shoulder (4 or 5) 12’ lanes and a 12’ inside shoulder. The existing bridge at Chesaco Avenue will be extended and soil nail walls constructed at the Chesaco and Hazelwood Avenue structures.


The project also includes the construction of the following:

  • Full depth pavement construction
  • Box culvert extension
  • Storm drain improvements
  • Stormwater management facilities
  • Retaining wall structures
  • Noise wall structures
  • Utilities
  • Signage structures
  • Lighting
  • ITS devices
  • Toll gantry foundations and conduit
  • Landscaping
  • Pavement marking
This project is the second in a series of three projects associated with the I-895 Interchange labeled as Segment 1. Cherry Hill looks forward to the opportunity to bid the third project in 2008.
