Cherry Hill Construction is a general contractor operating primarily in the heavy construction and highway segment of the construction industry. Cherry Hill also operates in other construction industry segments including: mass structure excavations; airport runways and taxiways; municipal landfills and closures; site developments (commercial and residential); pipelines and utilities; land clearing and grading; excavation support systems; pilings, foundations and ground improvement; and bridge and structural rehabilitation. The Company owns a fleet of modern equipment and trucks and most of its real estate.

Cherry Hill primarily operates in the District of Columbia, Florida, Maryland and Virginia, but is also licensed to conduct business in Delaware and West Virginia.

The company was founded in 1966 as Cherry Hill Sand and Gravel, Co., in Jessup, Maryland. It was incorporated under Maryland charter on May 2nd, 1968 as Cherry Hill Sand and Gravel, Co., Inc. The name was changed on March 13th, 1975 to Cherry Hill Construction, Inc. The corporation was acquired as a wholly owned subsidiary of Tutor Perini Corporation in 2005.

Cherry Hill employs approximately 200 salaried, full-time managers, supervisors, and administrative personnel. The number of hourly craft employees tends to be seasonal and project related. The average payroll varies from 225 to 600 hourly employees. The company uses predominantly union personnel and has collective bargaining agreements with unions that represent engineers, carpenters, and laborers. Cherry Hill surveyors, truck drivers, and all salaried personnel are non-union.

Approximately 52% of the Company’s revenues were earned from federal, state, and local governmental agencies during the past 5 fiscal years. Regional DOT’s historically have been the Company’s largest customer, accounting for about 34% of sales annually.
